Moses from the Nile to the Burning Bush

Moses is presented in three defining moments of his early life: the woven basket set among the reeds of the Nile, the shepherd standing with his flock in the wilderness, and the blazing bush through which God calls His servant. The upper scene recalls the infant Moses hidden in an ark of bulrushes and placed on the river under God’s providential care. The middle scene shows Moses in his years of humility as a shepherd, holding his staff among sheep on the rocky hills. The lower scene centers on the burning bush, aflame yet not consumed, the holy sign by which the Lord reveals His presence and commissions Moses to lead Israel out of bondage. Together these scenes trace the movement from rescue to preparation to divine calling, making the artwork especially useful for teaching Exodus, vocation, deliverance, and God’s sovereign guidance.
