Passed By on the Jericho Road

Farther down the rocky path, a richly dressed religious traveler continues on his way, recalling Jesus’ Parable of the Good Samaritan and the priest or Levite who saw the injured man yet passed by on the other side. The wilderness setting evokes the dangerous road from Jerusalem to Jericho, where mercy becomes the true test of neighborly love.
